PASCO COUNTY, FLa.- Hernando County deputies arrested a man who detectives believe is responsible for a major fire that destroyed several condos in Holiday.
According to the Pasco Sheriff’s office, Joseph Newman was arrested by Hernando County Sheriff’s Office on Pasco warrants for multiple counts of attempted homicide and arson after setting a van on fire in the Boardwalk Street area of Holiday on March 4, 2023.
Newman was charged with seven counts of attempted murder and twelve counts of arson. He is being held in the Hernando County jail on a $1,150,000.00 bond.
This fire lead to several homes, vehicles and vessels catching fire. No one was injured in the fire.
